People that like Radiohead only do so because they have been pushed into thinking it's cool and edgy to like them. The music is pompous, pretentious crap.

What a shame there are NO music websites on the whole Internet, and you have to post this crap on a West Ham website.

Quality genre.

There are plenty of things I could say about Grime but 'quality' isn't a word that comes to mind. 'Repetitive', 'tuneless', 'artless' maybe would suit it better.

Just a shame no one can understand a word they are saying. His and Kano's albums are embarrassing.

Plenty of West Ham bods involved in grime.

Quality genre.

Re: Mercury Prize 2016
Skepta just ticks all the diversity boxes. And even though grime failed the first time, the BBC charter has invested serious time and money into making sure that it doesn't fail this time around.

Bowie should have won.

Russ

And what do you consider relevant my good man?
Relevance has fuck all to do with Music, its a subjective medium, you either like something or you don't.

Personally, I love Radioheads music, it ticks all the boxes of what I believe makes good music.
I know that some may dislike it and thats ok.

can't remember what band or artist recently told them to stick the nomination because of the fee the cunts wanted per guest?

Re: Mercury Prize 2016
Fwiw from someone who sadly had to find out the in and outs of this:

In order to even be allowed to pay the £190+VAT required to put an album forward for 'nomination' you have to meet several conditions, including:

-having a major national digital distribution deal with Amazon, Google Play or iTunes. Self promotion via these outlets is insufficient;
- agree to pay £500 per head to Mercury Ltd for seats for the band and label representatives at the ceremony evening should an album you put forward be nominated. Around 800 guests attend the event every year; and
- agree to pay Mercury Ltd £4k per album in 'marketing charges' should an album you put forward be nominated.

Every year it is estimated that 250-300 albums are put forward by the UK music industry.

The 'independent industry expert judges' are not required to listen to all of the initial entries in order to form their own 'long list' of 25. This is done by Mercury Ltd. The owns of which all have other interests in the industry in labels, venues, distributors and/or concert promoters.

In addition, once the judges secretly propose their 12 short list albums (they are barred from discussing which albums they nominated with even each other), Mercury Ltd vets the list to ensure that all proposed shortlist entries reflect a range of albums consistent with the brand requirements of the company and its sponsors (hence no metal - ever...)

All aboard the gravy train...!

I know a Radiohead fan who is neither and actually a decent fella. I still tell him that he is a cunt for liking them. Fucking most over-rated bollocks ever.
